How to study Maths for the class 12th
CBSE 12th board examination is one of the few
glorified examinations in our country. Every student tries his/her level best
to come up with the best results in this examination. Mathematics is considered
as one of the toughest subjects to score in CBSE 12 board examinations. So let
us have a look at some important tips and tricks for scoring good marks in
class 12 mathematics.
·
For CBSE 12th board
examination, NCERT mathematics part-1 and part-2 are considered as the best
books for preparation. They give an idea of topics that are to be covered in a
chapter in the most conducive way considering the board examinations. Apart
from NCERT, a candidate can keep one reference book like R.S. Agarwal, R.D.
Sharma etc. But the use of too many books should be avoided.
·
While studying for the
first time each chapter should be given equal importance irrespective of their
marks weightage. Try to understand the concepts rather than memorizing them.
·
Once you have
completed a chapter make sure that you attempt all the problems mentioned in
the NCERT textbooks related to that chapter.
·
Once you have covered
all the chapters, start solving CBSE board sample papers and previous year
papers. A thorough study of previous year question papers reveals not only the
marks weightage of different chapters but also the type of questions that may
be asked from different chapters as the pattern of CBSE board is more or less
static.
·
Put more stress on
topics from calculus as they carry a heavy weightage in your question paper. Do
not ignore probability as it is the most scoring part. If you cover sample
papers you would acknowledge that questions from probability follow a similar
pattern every year.
·
Solving CBSE board
sample papers also prepares you to manage your time accordingly on the day of
your examination.
·
While writing in the
examination you must try and provide your solution in the most comprehensive
way so that it is easy for the examiner to evaluate. For questions involving
proofs, you must mention each and every point you have used while moving from
one step to another. Avoid jumping between steps of your solution.
